Instrument Hire Charges

Kent Music has a large instrument stock which is available to individual hirers who have Kent Music tuition and to schools which use Kent Music teachers. Schools wishing to hire recieve a generous discount. Our extensive hire department has over 2,500 instuments available to hire at very competitive prices.

Prices are quoted for a single semester (3 semesters a year) and are based on a single instrument. School hiring in bulk and for longer periods should enquire about our discounts.

Attractive promotional offers are available for students who select a group lesson with Kent Music and hire an instrument in a special 'Package Deal'

Instrument hire terms and conditions

You will be informed if we are unable to supply an instrument immediately.

We may make a surcharge for some full size instruments hired beyond the first year (please see hire agreement for details).

A late start in the first semester counts as a full semester (unless hired after 1/2 a semester) for the purpose of calculating hire charges.

Lost and damaged instruments must be paid for by the hirer. This will not apply to the re-hairing of bows necessitated by fair wear and tear, nor to strings breaking during the first semester.

Other than an initial reed issued with clarinets and saxophones, all reeds should be supplied by the hirer.

In the event of an instrument needing repair, please contact the Keeper of Instruments. We are unable to consider refunds in respect of repairs undertaken privately.

If lessons are discontinued or hire is no longer required, the instrument must be returned to Kent Music Maidstone immediately following the last lesson, otherwise an additional charge will be levied. Hire will be charged until the instrument has been returned and the replacement cost of the instrument will be payable if it is not returned

You are strongly advised to insure hired instruments against loss or damage under an 'all risks' policy, for the value as stated on the Hire Agreement.
