Kent Schools Recorder Orchestra Application Form
Kent Youth Recorders is open to players of Grade 7 standard and above who successfully complete an audition. The ensemble meets on one Sunday a month in Maidstone and three day residential courses are occasionally organised during the main school holidays.
Concerts are regularly given in Kent and further afield and have included participation in the National Festival of Music for Youth at London's South Bank Centre. In recent years KYR have undertaken tours to Israel and Austria.
Kent Schools' Recorder Orchestra is open to players of Grade 4 standard and above and aims, together with Kent Music's Area Recorder Ensembles, to accommodate players not yet sufficently advanced for KYR. Membership is by application, teacher's recommendation and KSRO staff assessment. The ensemble meets on one Sunday a month in Maidstone and three day residential courses are occasionally organised during the main school holidays.
Concerts are given regularly in Kent.
KYR and KSRO are directed by Karen Barton and managed by Geoff Dixon.
