Summer School: Orchestras

Orchestral Course

Strings/Brass: Grade 6 - 8, Woodwind Grades 7 - 8 (Thursday 15th - Tuesday 20th July 2010) | Cost £320

Sectional and full rehearsals alternate throughout the course. Works studied are taken from the standard orchestral repertoire. Students also sing in the course chorus.

String Orchestra Course

Strings Grade 4 - 5 (Thursday 15th - Tuesday 20th July 2010) | Cost £320

A foundation course for string players in preparation for future participation in the Orchestral Course. There are daily sectional and full rehearsals. Students also sing in the course chorus.

Junior Strings Course

Strings Grade 1 - 3 (Wednesday 21st - Friday 23rd July 2010) | Cost £160

This course is for players of violin, viola, 'cello and double bass, who will rehearse in two large string orchestras and sing in the course chorus.

Auditions?

No audition is necessary. Placement will be made after careful consideration of the instrumental teacher's recommendation, the pupil's experience and ability level, together with the need to ensure an instrumental balance.

Each course culminates in a concert for parents.
