KYC caters for advanced students with previous choral experience and sight-singing ability. Members are selected by audition. Many of our members have gone on to study music at college and university and some have enjoyed success as solo performers. Most have followed careers in areas other than music but continue to enjoy music-making as an important leisure activity. Under the guidance of leading choral conductors and vocal specialists, members are coached in developing their vocal skills and improving their overall musicianship.

Kent Youth Choir regularly works with conductors and vocal specialists of international repute including Bob Chilcott, David Lawrence and Scott Stroman. The choir is currently led by conductor Ben Rous and accompanist John Hayden.
