Joining a Local Music Group is a fun and easy way to enhance your playing skills. Not only will you have fun and meet new people but your ensemble leader will introduce you to a wide range of music and you will develop your playing and listening skills, which are an essential part of developing your skills as a musician.
In some areas in Kent and Medway we have Music Centres, which host a wide range of Local Music Groups in one venue. Our Music Centres are spread across the county and provide daytime, evening and Saturday music groups. Some of these Music Centres offer instrumental lessons and all offer the opportunity to play in an music group. Ensembles vary from Kindermusik for pre-school children to high level wind bands, orchestras and special projects.
No. You will not have to audition for any of our local music groups.
You can join a local music groupĀ at any time: you can just turn up and ask for an application form at your first session. You can also go along to the group for a taster session to see if you like it, before becoming a paid up member.
