Over 60 young musicians take part in Sevenoaks Children’s Prom

On Wednesday 13th July, over 60 students from primary schools in Sevenoaks took part in the Sevenoaks Children’s Prom at Knole Academy.

Lead by Lizzie Hughes, Guy Saunders and Nigel Fish, the young musicians were guided through classics such as Ode to Joy, William Tell Overture and Morning. The Orchard Theatre was the perfect setting, especially for the children’s triumphant version of the Pomp and Circumstance in complete ‘prom’ style!

The orchestra was made up of a complete set of strings, percussion, woodwind and brass, giving the children the experience of a rehearsing and performing in a large ensemble.

Lizzie Hughes is also welcoming all the children who took part to join Sevenoaks Music Centre, where she will be leading the Choir and Junior Mixed Ensemble.
