Another sold out concert for KYWO! Spring 2015

The Kent Youth Wind Orchestra under the skilful direction of Graham Vinall joined forces with the County Choirs in April to stage a concert of music from the ‘Small Screen’ to the ‘Silver Screen’. The orchestra returned to the superb Colyer-Ferguson Concert Hall in Canterbury following its first appearance at the hall last year. The concert this year on Saturday 11th April attracted another complete sell out and was obviously a popular one with the audience with an encore being demanded! The concert was a culmination of a five day residential course held at Sutton Valence School just outside Maidstone. The course included intense sectional and full rehearsals from 9.15am through to 8.30pm each day with some rest and relaxation time included to allow the usual competitive rounders and football matches to take place. The standard achieved on the repertoire in only five days by the young performers was outstanding and a true credit to parents, schools, tutors and conductors – a great honour for the students to represent the county of Kent for music. The orchestra is already booked in to the concert hall next year so please put the date in your diary now to remind you to book tickets early – 2nd April 2016 at 3pm. Tickets will be available from the box office next year.
