INSET 2014/15

Join us for our next Inset at The East Malling Conference Centre, Maidstone.

We have Nick Beach, Academic Director from Trinity College London coming to deliver the Keynote address. There will be discussions raised by the recent research survey collaboration announced by Music Mark, the Incorporated Society of Musicians, the Musicians’ Union, Youth Music, teachingmusic.org.uk, CAGAC and Heads of Instrumental Teaching Scotland. If you haven’t yet completed the survey do so here.

We will also have a discussion group and practical workshop about the ensemble opportunities for young people in the 21st Century, with leaders from our award winning Orchestra ONE project led by Joe Browne. Hal Leonard Professional Development will also be hosting a session entitled ‘Performing More, Performing Better’ presented by Hilary Smethurst-Evans Area Senior Leader for Berkshire Maestros, professional development mentor for Berkshire Young Musicians Trust and the ABRSM. She will present a ‘hands-on’ workshop of how to best use the new digital resources available from Hal Leonard. You will also receive a handy pack of resources to take away and use in your teaching immediately.

As usual we will have several practical workshops to generate fresh enthusiasm for your teaching and panel discussions about the way forward, working with County Groups, using singing is all your work and lots more and as ever, a sumptuous lunch! We look forward to seeing you, please confirm your attendance with Angela Parr ASAP and by July 18th to ensure adequate catering.
