Why are things changing?

By restructuring the staff and trustees together to create capacity for a sharper focus, we believe that we can successfully deliver the future strategy for music education in Kent. Kent’s hub will no longer be a separate organisation but will represent the partnerships between Kent Music and the organisations working alongside to create joined-up music education provision, responding to local needs and fulfilling the objectives of the hub.

Our future strategy will be focussed on four areas:

SUPPORTING TALENT AND PROGRESSION

Ensuring that children and young people are able to follow their dreams by learning instruments, playing in groups and singing in choirs.

SUPPORTING WELL-BEING, INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY FOR ALL CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Providing opportunities for children and young people who may not otherwise receive a music education.

CHAMPIONING TEACHING & LEARNING EXCELLENCE

Supporting music teachers across Kent to enable them to develop their practice and provide the best for our young people.

DEVELOPING A CULTURE OF THE ARTS IN SCHOOLS

Working with headteachers, senior leaders and music staff in Kent schools to embed music and the arts into school life.
