After another brilliant project Orchestra ONE took to the stage, celebrating the sights and sounds of SUMMER to mark the culmination of Orchestra ONE Project 11.

Participants spent four days working on original music and lyrics with expert coaching from sax player Joe Browne, drummer Alex Ribchester, vocalist Bracken Burns and trumpet player Jake Painter. During the project the players also enjoyed a masterclass in playing steel pans by Captain Kirk of the Phase 5 Steelband – “so we had a little Caribbean sunshine to blend in with our own home-grown variety.” – Sue Marlow, Project Manager

The project finished with a concert for family and friends at Cornwallis Academy, Hubbards Lane, Maidstone, which included an opening set from Band without Boundaries, an inclusive group run by Kent Music whose members include adults with a range of learning disabilities. Band without Boundaries also joined Orchestra ONE for the exciting finale piece.
