A successful and inspiring start of term conference!

On Friday 2nd September we held our Kent Talks Music Conference at The Orchards Events Centre, East Malling.

With eighty music teachers from across the county attending, the conference enjoyed presentations from two key guest speakers: educationalist and author Paul Harris spoke about his Simultaneous Learning approach to music teaching while Dr Rachel Drury, from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, discussed music teaching for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities in a mainstream setting.

Practical sessions included a body percussion workshop with Ollie Tunmer – a former cast member of the West End show STOMP, a singing session with Kent Music education specialist Anita Memmott, and two short lunchtime sessions with Sing Up and Rock School.

Local music industry professionals including Artswork, DJM Music, Kent DJ Academy, Trinity College London and Trinity Laban filled the foyer with fantastic individual exhibitions!

If you would like to get in touch about the conference, please contact Steph via srichardson@kent-music.com.
