We are seeking new trustees to join our Board and help guide our work through an exciting and ambitious next chapter.
Kent Music is the lead organisation for the Kent & Medway Music Hub, funded by Arts Council England, and a charity dedicated to widening access to high-quality music education. Driven by our belief that music changes lives, we work closely with schools, colleges, cultural organisations and partners to ensure that learners of all ages, especially children and young people, can access and progress in music.
We’re looking for passionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees and play a key role in shaping the next phase of our journey
We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are especially keen to hear from candidates in Medway as we continue to grow our reach and representation across the county.
Why become a trustee?
Being a trustee is both a rewarding and strategic volunteer opportunity. You’ll play a vital role in shaping Kent Music’s vision, supporting its leadership, and strengthening music education for the region. At the same time, you’ll gain leadership experience, broaden your professional network, and develop skills in charity governance, finance, HR and strategic planning.
Trustees are supported through induction, training and mentoring, and we are committed to making the experience enriching for you as well as impactful for the organisation.
Who we're looking for
We are seeking two trustees with a passion for the role music plays in young people’s lives! If you have experience in education or finance management your skills could be particularly useful to help support the work of Kent Music. You might be a headteacher, education leader or policymaker with a strong understanding of schools, eager to share your experiences.
In this role, you will:
- Bring valuable insight into the education landscape.
- Contribute your expertise to Kent Music’s Lead Schools Advisory Group.
- Help shape strategy and ensure the voices of educators and young people are reflected in our planning.
Who you are:
- A senior professional in music education or education policy
- Passionate about music and cultural education
- A strategic thinker, ready to support, challenge and contribute at Board level.
