Have you been tasked with teaching whole class ukulele next year? Need some pointers for effective delivery?
Join us for our free afternoon session where we will go through the basics of effective whole class ukulele teaching. No prior experience for this course is required, just a willingness to get involved and have some fun!
In this session we will cover:
- tuning up,
- classroom management,
- posture and hand positions,
- strumming/picking techniques
- managing expectations,
- lesson planning,
- pace and scaffolding activities.
During the session, we will explore teaching resources provided by Ukulele Magic, as well as make use of some other free online materials.
Ukuleles will be provided for the session, but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. The afternoon will be facilitated by Zoe Marksford, Kent Music School Support and Development Manager.
If you would like to purchase your own copy of Ukulele Magic to use in your classroom, these will be available to order in advance. Copies of this book will cost £10 each and will be available to collect at the session. If you would like to place an order for your copy, please state this when booking your place on the course. An invoice will be sent to your school and will need to be paid prior to the session. Please note, we will not be able to accept any cash or card payments on the day.
Our CPD sessions are free for attendees working in Kent & Medway schools, there is a small charge for schools attending from outside of the Kent & Medway area; and also for those working in independent schools. There will also be a charge of £15 to schools for non-attendance without 48hours prior notice.
