Job summary

This new role of Vocal Lead for Kent Music will be a champion of vocal engagement and excellence across Kent and Medway. The role will focus on delivery with visits to schools and Kent Music’s music centres, involvement in performance opportunities and delivery of CPD as a core part of the role.

As this is a new role, time spent collaborating and planning with colleagues will naturally be significant to begin with. However, we anticipate over time that the Vocal Lead will spend an increasing amount of time out in schools and our communities.

What you’ll do:

  • Support schools to embed high quality vocal provision into their music offer

  • Design and deliver training and CPD opportunities
  • Plan and deliver a programme of large scale vocal events to deepen community engagement

We are looking for someone with:

  • A Degree in music or equivalent formal music qualification(s)
  • Experience as a vocal teacher in schools and community settings
  • Experience of planning and delivering performance opportunities for students
  • Experience of planning, delivering and leading training and CPD events
  • An ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with audiences
