Youth Wind Band

The Youth Wind Band provides school-age woodwind, brass and percussion players with the opportunity to rehearse and perform with other young musicians from across Kent. The non-residential courses take place over three days during the autumn and spring school half-terms and each course is followed by a concert. The group provides a good foundation for players who are keen to develop their ensemble skills.

The next 3-day course runs from Friday 16 – Sunday 18 February at Rochester Grammar School. View event here

Music is selected from the standard wind band repertoire with the aim of extending musical skills, knowledge and understanding through intensive but enjoyable sectional rehearsals.

Applications are welcome if you are a school age woodwind, brass or percussion player of grade 2+ or equivalent standard. Auditions are not required to take part in this group.

The group meets twice a year for courses to allow concentrated tuition with specialist tutors and to work with experienced conductors. Courses culminate in a concert which friends and family are welcome to attend.

We are always interested in hearing from new members! Auditions are not required for membership in the Youth Wind Band and applications are welcome at any point during the season. Please contact Valerie Cordina at vcordina@kent-music.com for more information.

How much does it cost?
