Gather round, adventurers! Bards and barbarians, wizards and rogues, it’s time to grab your gear, rally your party, and set out on a musical quest.

Join us this February half term for Orchestra ONE Project 39, where over four days you’ll build a world, forge characters, and create original music inspired by stories from Dungeons & Dragons, RPGs, fantasy, and myth. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or you’ve never opened a rulebook, this project welcomes all imaginative young bards.

With support from professional music tutors, you’ll shape a story together and bring it to life through sound, tech, rhythm, and performance. Think of it as a creative campaign where the only limit is the roll of your ideas – and perhaps some dice as well.

We welcome young music-makers of all kinds, including singers, instrumentalists, and those into music tech. No experience of D&D is needed, just the desire to collaborate, experiment, and explore a new world of sound as part of a creative party.

We welcome young music-makers of all kinds, including singers, instrumentalists of all kinds, and those into music tech. You don’t need to read music – just bring your energy, curiosity, and willingness to try something new.

Singers are especially encouraged to join us for this project. If you usually play an instrument but fancy giving singing a go, this is a brilliant place to try it out.

Our team of expert tutors cover every section — from strings, woodwind and brass to keys, tech, vocals and more — so you’ll get focused support whatever your musical interest.

What To Expect:

  • Work with talented tutors to create and perform an original piece of music in four days
  • Build characters, craft musical quests, and explore how story shapes sound
  • Experiment with your voice or instrument in new and surprising ways
  • Play with musical and gaming mechanics, letting chance and creativity guide your ideas
  • Grow your confidence, imagination and collaborative skills
  • Be part of an open, supportive group where everyone’s ideas are welcome

Do I need to audition?

No auditions needed! As long as you are the right age and grade level, you are welcome on the course.

What do I need to bring?

Wherever possible, participants will need to bring their own instruments along to the project including amplifiers, leads and instrument stands.
Do let us know if you haven’t got your own supplies – we may be able to help out. Please get in touch by emailing countygroups@kent-music.com if this is the case.
