This course is for violin, viola, cello and double bass players who want to play music with others and grow in confidence. You’ll play in one of two string orchestras, based on your experience, and rehearse with experienced tutors.
You’ll take part in sectional and full rehearsals, helping you improve your technique and learn how your part fits into the wider music.
Alongside string orchestra rehearsals, everyone on the course also sings together as a choir. This is great for improving your listening skills and musical teamwork!
The course ends with a performance for family and friends in Benenden School Centenary Concert Hall.
For some players, Summer Strings can lead on to Symphony Orchestra Experience Day, the Symphony Orchestra course, or Kent County Youth Orchestra.
All staff working with children and young people hold a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and take part in regular safeguarding and child protection training.
