This experience day gives orchestral players the chance to explore what playing in a full symphony orchestra is like. It’s an exciting glimpse of what the next stage of your musical journey could involve.

You’ll play alongside members of the KMSS Symphony Orchestra and work with the course conductor and specialist tutors. Rehearsals focus on ensemble playing, listening and confidence as part of a large orchestra.

This day is designed for players of the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba and Orchestral Percussion.

This is a non-residential course. However, you’ll experience the full Summer School environment, including excellent facilities and lunch. Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.

All staff working with children and young people hold a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and take part in regular safeguarding and child protection training.

This experience day can be a first step towards the Symphony Orchestra course, and for some players, future progression into Kent County Youth Orchestra

My child really enjoyed the sessions with the orchestra and was excited to do a full residential course next.
