With the theme ‘Taking Action on Music’ and a focus on the new National Plan for Music Education (NPME), the day will be a valuable, engaging and informative day for educators from across the county to come together and look at the future of music in schools.

The full day will include:

    • Keynote speeches from YolanDa Brown and Catherine Barker
    • A host of other talented music education professionals including Katie Teage, Emily Renshaw-Kid, Vanessa Stansall and Sarah Share
    • A full expo of music and education organisations offering advice and support
    • Lunch, snacks and drinks provided throughout the day

Keynote Speaker YolanDa Brown:

For some, world-wide touring and critically acclaimed albums would be satisfaction enough. Not for YolanDa Brown, she wears many hats, musician, broadcaster, author, philanthropist and wears them well… with passion and full of vigour.

A champion for the importance of music education she is chair of Youth Music, sits on the Arts Council National Council, a trustee of the PRS Foundation, an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust and London Music Fund and sits on the advisory board of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2021, she was invited by the Department of Education to sit on the advisory panel of the National Plan for Music Education.

Find YolanDa’s full bio here, and explore more information about her at her website.

Other attendees and session leaders include:

Roger Wilson, Black Lives in Music

Vanessa Stansall, Creative Futures

Katie Teage, Educator, Consultant, Presenter, Conductor, Composer

Emily Renshaw-Kidd, Director of Music, The Langton School for Boys

More speakers and workshop leaders will be announced soon!
