This session will explore the role of the instrumentalist in early years settings and consider practical and theoretical questions around the use of the practitioner’s own instrument. Delegates are invited to bring their own instruments.
- Consider different approaches to using their own instrument to play to, for and with children
- Explore strategies for using their instrument to explore sound and improvisation with young children
- Learn about the importance of musical play in the early years and how this impacts children’s later instrument learning
