Take your first steps into jazz
Maidstone Junior Jazz Band is the ideal first step into the world of jazz for young musicians grades 1- 3. This friendly group gives students the chance to try out jazz techniques such as improving reading skills along with providing an introduction to beginner’s improvisation. Students will be able to explore exciting new jazzy repertoire and grow in confidence as part of a super friendly group of like-minded learners.
With expert guidance and a supportive atmosphere, students build the skills they need to progress towards more advanced ensembles like Kent Youth Jazz Orchestra (KYJO), while enjoying the buzz of making music together at Maidstone Music Centre.
