Maidstone Mini Music Explorers is a fun and creative group where young learners can sing, explore percussion and enjoy games which build rhythm, coordination and listening skills. With a focus on confidence and creativity, it’s all about discovering the joy of music in a supportive and playful setting.
Ideal for those who are just starting to learn instruments or sing or are simply curious about music. Young learners starting here have a great opportunity to progress to other groups at Maidstone Music Centre and beyond!


Meet your tutor
Karen Hill is a classically trained singer who has performed in everything from Phantom of the Opera to swing and jazz with big bands across the UK.
Alongside her performing career, she brings a fun and supportive approach to teaching. Karen leads choirs in schools and the community, coaches young singers, and inspires children through fun, creative sessions that make music feel accessible and exciting for everyone.

Who is the group for?
Maidstone Mini Music Explorers is for young learners aged 6-8 who are just starting out or complete musical beginners, and curious about music. It’s perfect for those who love singing, movement and games, and want to try out music in a playful, low-pressure environment.
Are instruments provided?
Percussion instruments will be provided.
How much does it cost to join?
We aim to make Music Centre membership as affordable and accessible as possible for everyone who wants to join the music community.
Once you’re a member you will have access to all groups at our Music Centres. You can join as many as you wish, no matter which centre you initially signed up at and make even more music!
Lessons are an additional charge. However, if you have lessons with us you will receive a 10% discount on your Music Centre membership.

How do I join?
It’s simple! Just click the ‘join this group’ button on this page. Complete the form and add the course to your basket. Then go to your basket to finish your application by logging into your Kent Music online customer account.
If you don’t have an account, no worries – you can still apply by clicking the ‘Apply Here’ button. You’ll be guided through a few easy steps to create an account and complete your application.
Once your application is done, you’ll receive further information about your lessons or ensemble.
