Let your voice soar at West Kent Junior Voices!

Led by the talented Michael Bascom, our ensemble offers a welcoming space for young singers to grow and thrive. Members will explore a diverse range of genres and repertoire, build confidence and develop essential musical skills.

Weekly sessions will include warmup games, exploration of musical techniques, and singing both solo and as a group.

First half term is free for new students!

You can join this group at any time – no auditions are required! West Kent Junior Voices is designed for singers of all levels who are keen to lift their voices, build confidence and skills, and join a friendly, supportive musical community.

To apply for this ensemble, please click ‘Apply Here’ below. You’ll be taken to the ensemble page on our online course platform where you can add this course to your basket.

Once you’ve selected your chosen course, go to your basket to complete your application. You will then be prompted to log into your Kent Music online customer account.

If you don’t have an online customer account, then don’t worry – you can still easily apply at the ‘Apply Here’ button. You’ll be taken through some simple steps to create an account and your application will be processed the same as someone with an existing account.

After your application is complete, you’ll be sent further information about your ensemble to confirm.

Music Centre membership is fantastic value with some great benefits!

As a member you will have access to all ensembles at our Music Centres across Kent, so you can join as many as you wish, no matter which centre you initially signed up at.

Tuition is an additional charge, but you will receive a 10% discount on your membership if you wish to also wish to join an ensemble at a Music Centre.

Fees per term:

September 2023 – July 2024: Child £50 | Adult £70

Fees are invoiced termly (3 terms per year) and can be paid by instalments on request immediately following receipt of your invoice. Invoices will be sent at the beginning of each term and are payable by return.

Meet your ensemble leader:

Michael Bascom is a British composer, conductor, performer and producer based in Tunbridge Wells in the Southeast of England. Since completing his education in Music (BA, Univ of Cambridge) and Opera Making (MA, Guildhall School of Music & Drama in association with the Royal Opera House – scholarship holder) he has written for stage, film and the concert platform.

He has written and produced several shows, including Cathy: A Retelling of Wuthering Heights at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, has performed at numerous venues such as The Barbican Centre in London and the National Auditorium in Madrid, and directed a number of ensembles including most recently at the Pentagrama Academia in Madrid as Director of Choir and Ensembles.

A keen advocate of community arts, he helped found the Tunbridge Wells Fringe Festival and currently assists with the Tunbridge Wells International Music Festival.
