Dee Edney

I am a deeply passionate musician with a lifelong love of sound and creativity. I have been teaching music for over 25 years, working with students of all levels and from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. I am driven by a love of inspiring others to explore their creativity and express themselves authentically through music.

I hold a Master’s degree in Music (Distinction) from Canterbury Christ Church University. During my studies, I created, wrote, performed and recorded an original album in collaboration with a former member of Primal Scream and session musicians who have worked with artists including Massive Attack, Ravi Shankar, D:Ream, Elton John and Jools Holland, alongside fellow students, local musicians — and even my cat Benji and a group of plants. I composed all of the songs on guitar, performed vocals, and produced the album.

My teaching approach is student-led, with a strong focus on personal development as well as musicianship. I am passionate about supporting students in discovering their musical identities, developing confidence, and exploring their evolving tastes through learning their instrument.

I also perform under the stage name Angeldee and can be found playing gigs and festivals throughout the year and on all streaming platforms.
