Keelan Carew
Hello there! I am a pianist and broadcaster, and my greatest love is teaching the piano and music. I grew up in Medway, and later studied music at the Royal Northern College of Music. I went on to work and teach at The Yehudi Menuhin School and broadcast for BBC Radio 3 and 4. I have taught the piano since my teens, and I'm excited to teach across the county through Kent Music.
I divide my time between performing, broadcasting and teaching, and act as Artistic Director for the Rainham Piano Festival, near my home. Much of my focus is on music outreach projects that improve access to and engagement with Classical music.
I enjoy teaching all abilities and methods, from early years beginners through to professional/conservatoire level masterclasses. I adapt my pedagogy to best suit the individual learner and desired outcomes - and always with the aim of an effortless technique. For me, playing the piano is a vital outlet that enriches our lives, and encourages self-assured, disciplined, and creative attitudes.
