The concert will also feature two other successful KCYO alumni: composer Ben Oliver will be conducting his work written specially for the anniversary called Loop Concerto, which will be performed by jazz pianist Ivo Neame, accompanied by current members of the orchestra.

Three other pieces will be performed, conducted by the orchestra’s former full-time director Alan Vincent: Beethoven’s Choral Symphony, Zadok the Priest by Handel, and Four Sea Interludes by Britten.

In Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, KCYO and the Kent County Singers will be joined by soprano Julia Sporsen, mezzo Tania Holland, tenor James Edwards and bass Simon Thorpe, as well as a chorus of more than 160 experienced choir members and individual singers from all over Kent.

The concert will be held at Mote Hall, Maidstone on Saturday September 7. Tickets are priced £16, £14 and £6 (box office 01622 358402).
