Fantastic finale to KCYO 12/13 season
The Kent County Youth Orchestra celebrated its 50th anniversary in style on Saturday, 7th September to a packed audience of just under 800 people at Mote Hall, Maidstone with a concert that included two conductors, five soloists, an orchestra of 110 players and a chorus of 140 singers. The concert featured Handel’s Coronation Anthem Zadok the Priest, Britten’s Four Sea Interludes, the premiere of Loop Concerto for Improvising Pianist and Orchestra performed by former KCYO percussionist Ivo Neame and written by former KCYO flautist Ben Oliver as well as a performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (Choral).
A truly joyous occasion and a fitting climax to KCYO’s 50th anniversary season.
