Orchestra Explorers – Summer 2014

On 30 July Orchestra Explorers embarked on their 4-day journey exploring the orchestra in a series of musical sessions from learning about rhythm and conducting to discovering the instruments of the orchestra and experiencing playing with others. The summer project culminated in a fantastic concert for family and friends in which the explorers all played brilliantly and great fun was had by all!

Participant and parent feedback:

‘There were lots of different things to do, all of which were new to me. It was a great to be able to make music with others. I thought Cathy was a great teacher and made it all fun. She gave me lots of help with my violin and I think my playing has improved.’

‘She came back much more enthusiastic about playing her instrument and also other instruments in the future. She learnt so much – so many new notes – and really grew in confidence’

‘Positive experience encouraging music practice in a fun way during the holidays. Big thumbs up from us all.’

‘A fantastic experience for one so young and so early in his music journey.’
