Orchestra ONE: Project 13

Orchestra ONE takes a leap in a new direction!

The Orchestra ONE collaborative Project 13 concert took place at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone on the 6th April, giving both the musicians and dancers the opportunity to perform in this atmospheric venue. The main ensemble performed new pieces inspired by the theme of ‘Movement’ which were full of energy and imagination.

The music/dance works were highly inventive and those musicians working with the young dancers were literally drawn into the dance… some being dragged across the stage whilst playing their instruments!

The audience loved it! I thought the link with the dancers made a great production. The interaction with the musicians was brilliant.

“Well just a quick note  to say thank you to everyone involved last week. Emily really enjoyed all of it. I thought the link with the dancers made a great production. The interaction with the musicians was brilliant. Emily is already wishing to be booked on to the one in August .”

“We so enjoyed the concert last week and were so impressed by the standard of music created. Oliver and Sebastian came back beaming with pride. Do please pass on our congratulations to all involved. We are certainly coming back in August. Since the workshop, Oliver has spoken of wanting to start violin lessons.”

“Thank you, once again, to you and the Kent Music team for running Orchestra ONE. Luke and Joshua enjoyed it immensely, and are looking forward to the next one. We really enjoyed the performance this year. Having the dancers added a great dimension to the music written with them, and we really liked the interaction between the musicians and the dancers.”
