Music has been a central part of my life since my first musical experience in a lunchtime recorder club at primary school aged five. After studying at The University of Nottingham and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, my professional work has spanned roles as a musician and music education consultant across orchestras, chamber ensembles, music theatre, school settings and community organisations around the UK. Most recently, I have enjoyed roles within the management team at Southwark Music and working as a primary music lead and classroom teacher across various schools in London. I am also a proud trustee of Sinfonia Smith Square, with a particular focus on supporting the executive team with our education and community programmes. A passion for early years music shapes my ongoing postgraduate study, and I am currently completing a Masters in Educational Leadership focusing on supporting music in the early years. I also work for The Amber Trust and Soundabout as a freelance music practitioner, facilitating music making sessions with disabled young people and their families. Alongside my music education work, I am an actor-musician and the co-founder of Merryweather Theatre, a London-based arts collective which writes, develops and performs original folk musicals for children at schools, theatres and arts festivals around the UK. My listening playlist is ever changing! Recently I've been exploring neo-trad folk music by Project Smok, Gnoss and Talisk alongside my long-standing favourite albums by David Bowie, Prince and Talking Heads. My favourite place in Kent is the walk along the beach from Folkestone to Sandgate - I love the expansive view over the water. Even better with some chips in hand!
