Join us as we explore the role of a music lead and investigate why the role is different to that of other curriculum leads. If you are a new or developing music lead looking for some guidance on leading music within your school, this course may just be the thing for you!
The role of a music lead is varied; and so this full day CPD session has been carefully put together to cover a wide range of topics relating to music education in the primary school.
Discussions during the day will include:
- planning,
- assessment,
- monitoring,
- document writing,
- working with the Hub,
- managing funding,
- instrumental teachers,
- events (extra-curricular/trips/performances etc.)
- working with your music averse colleagues!
Vision making, skills mapping, resources and writing a Music Development Plan will be a key element of the day. This session aims to provide opportunities for reflecting on what music looks like in your school; as well as considering your next steps.
The day will be facilitated by Zoe Marksford, Kent Music School Support and Development Manager.
There will be plenty of time for questions and chat. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know when booking your place.
Our CPD sessions are free for attendees working in Kent & Medway schools, there is a small charge for schools attending from outside of the Kent & Medway area; and also for those working in independent schools. If you are unable to attend this course, please give at least 48 hours notice (not including weekends/holidays). There will be a non-attendance charge of £35 to cover refreshments, lunch and materials. Please read our Ts & Cs for more information.
