In this fun and hands-on training session, you will explore practical and accessible ways to teach and use musical notation across KS1 and KS2. Beginning with rhythm notation, you will learn how to support pupils to build their understanding step by step, ensuring each new symbol is clearly understood and securely linked to prior learning.

The session then moves into pitch notation, where you will discover creative strategies that use the whole body to develop reading and interpreting skills in an active and memorable way.

This course is aimed at all educators teaching music at KS1 and KS2. No prior knowledge of reading music is required to attend this session—but beware… by the end, you will be a confident ‘reader’ yourself!

Kent Music are proud to bring these events to music educators across the county for free! There is a small fee of £15 for independent schools and out of area schools. If you book a place please endeavour to attend or let us know if you can no longer make it as this may be preventing another person booking a space. There will be a charge of £15 to schools for non-attendance at in-person events without 48 hours notice.

Kindly hosted by Miers Court Primary School.
