Drum Teacher – Salaried
Become part of our dynamic team as a peripatetic Drum teacher. You’ll enjoy diverse teaching opportunities across a range of settings on our team. Your role will encompass whole class instrumental tuition, ensemble leading, small groups, and individual tuition. Based primarily in the Ashford area at the Ashford Music Centre on Wednesday evenings, there is also potential for expansion into schools in the surrounding areas. This position promises a fulfilling opportunity to nurture and develop young musicians.

Non-Teaching Vacancies
School Projects Support Manager
£34,200 pro rata, per annum

Kent Music is seeking a dynamic School Projects Support Manager to work with schools across the county. Working with the Kent Music Hub Team you will work to deliver the aims of the Kent Music School Engagement Strategy and directly with schools to make a real difference to the music education of children and young people across the county.
This is an ideal job for anyone with a with a background and qualification in music education, who is keen to make a mark on improving music education in schools across the county of Kent.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in singing or music technology.
This role has been created in response to increased demand for Kent Music’s school support services. The postholder will work within the hub team supporting a portfolio of schools with curriculum design, staff training and the upskilling of non-specialist music teachers.
The post holder will work across teams at Kent Music, in particular with area managers and administrators.

Area Administrator

Are you passionate about facilitating the growth and success of other people in music and the arts? Do you want to contribute to our wider musical community? Are you interested in a calm, relaxed work environment with the opportunity for hybrid working?
We are looking for a good communicator and someone who enjoys customer focussed duties to join our team of administrators, who support our area managers in providing opportunities for children, young people, and adults to engage in musical activities across Kent. Your role will involve setting up tuition lessons across a given area, supporting the Area Manager to build ensemble groups and choirs and helping to build/maintain relationships with schools and other partners.
This is a great opportunity to get into the world of music education and to play a crucial supporting role.
As an Area Administrator you will provide an excellent first point of contact to parents, schools, and teachers in registering students for tuition and administering teacher portfolios.
You will be part of a wider team of Area Administrators, each working closely with their Area Manager to meet the bespoke and varied challenges of our musical communities. Our role is to enable music to thrive in schools and music centres across Kent.

Music Centre Receptionist – Ashford

Kent Music is looking for a highly motivated and approachable receptionist to support music tuition and ensembles at Ashford Music Centre on Wednesday afternoons/evenings (3:45pm – 7:30pm).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate team dedicated to making a difference through music education.
As a music centre receptionist, you will greet and assist customers, students and teachers with enthusiasm and professionalism. You will act as a link between the venue and Kent Music, ensuring effective communication. You will also be responsible for Health and Safety in the centre and monitor participant attendance.

Music Resources Assistant

We are looking for somebody to join our Music Resources team based in our head office in Ashford. The Music Resources Assistant has responsibility for carrying out administration relating to the hiring of instruments, and the delivery/collection of Kent Music’s instrument stock.
To comply with mandatory insurance requirements, those driving Kent Music vehicles must be aged 25 or over.
This role supports the Music Resources Manager, ensuring stock and hire records are accurately maintained and instruments are catalogued and labelled correctly. The Music Resources Assistant may be required to carry out some preparation of instruments, under the supervision of the Music Resources Technicians/Manager.
The role requires some driving, and the Music Resources Assistant must ensure that all instrument deliveries and collections are carried out professionally and efficiently, including the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.

Trustee Vacancies
The Board of Kent Music is looking to recruit new trustees.
Kent Music has recently been invited by Arts Council England to lead the new Kent & Medway Music Hub and is seeking passionate individuals to help guide it through this exciting new phase.
As we expand our role to cover Medway, we are particularly keen to attract applicants who live in and/or are involved in music or community activities in Medway.
We are seeking one youth trustee, a treasurer and two additional trustees. As a trustee, you will have the opportunity to bring your expertise, experience, and enthusiasm to the Board, helping us to make a real difference to the music education of all our learners.

Treasurer
The treasurer will support the chief executive and accountant. They will chair the executive committee which scrutinises financial information, particularly budgets, management accounts and final accounts.
The treasure will chair the audit committee once a year when draft audited accounts are presented by the external auditor.

Youth Trustee
The Board has two places reserved for trustees between the ages of 18 and 25. The trustees believe that it is crucial to include people on the Board who belong to the age group of the beneficiaries of the charity.
Kent Music views membership of the Board as an opportunity for the organisation to gain the insights of young people and to provide an important learning experience for young trustees. Members of the leadership team will be assigned to each young trustee to develop their understanding of the role.

- at least one trustee with expertise in safeguarding who can work with our safeguarding lead to ensure that all the activities provided by Kent Music and the wider Music Hub are safe for those participating.
