Musical Director: Dartford Orchestra for Young People

Location: Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford, Kent DA1 2JZ
Salary: £30.08 per hour for 3 hours per week.  Contributory pension scheme
Hours: Wednesdays, 5-7pm, 33 weeks term time only, with an additional 1 hour preparation and planning time on average per weekFixed term until July 2019

We are looking for a dynamic Musical Director to lead and develop Dartford Orchestra for Young People – a new orchestra for 10-18 year olds from Dartford who have been learning their instrument for a minimum of three years (or Grade 2 equivalent).

The role of Musical Director will include on the ground Orchestra leadership and management, and artistic direction throughout the weekly rehearsals and associated events and activities. The group will explore different genres of music through a range of methods including notation, improvisation, composition and aural training.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 25 April at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford from 4pm, and will require a short demonstration of working with a group of instrumentalists as well as a verbal interview.

Salary: £8.80 per hour plus pro-rata annual leave and public holidays
Reporting to: Head of Music Programmes
Hours: 9.5 hours per week, fixed term until Friday 5th July 2019

As receptionist and pastoral support for Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells Music Centres, this role provides an excellent first point of contact for customers using these small centres for their instrumental tuition and ensembles. You will be responsible for health and safety at each of the three centres, and ensuring that students, parents and teachers are signed in according to the regulations of each centre.
