Welcome to the Tonbridge Music Centre!
The Kent Music Tonbridge Music Centre campus is home to our advanced ensemble, the West Kent Youth Orchestra (WKYO). We welcome musicians aged 10-18 with a Grade 5 equivalent or higher to join this vibrant group. Under the direction of Benedict, our talented musical leader and conductor, the WKYO performs concerts at least three times a year. Find out more about this group at the bottom of this page.

Groups
Joining a local music ensemble like an orchestra, choir, or band can enhance your playing, give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people, learn new skills, and become a confident musician. Ensembles are always enjoyable, and often there is the opportunity to join in with performances and showcase your talents.

FAQs
How do I get to the centre?
By Car: Weald of Kent Grammar School, Tonbridge is located just off the A2014 and is easily accessed from the A21 or the A26. It is a 5 min drive from Tonbridge town centre, a 14 min drive from Sevenoaks town centre and a 11 min drive from Tunbridge Wells town centre. There are ample free car parking spaces on site.
By public transport: From Tonbridge Station it is a 17 min walk. The following bus routes stop at Weald of Kent Grammar School, Tonbridge: Nos 205, 208, 208A and 219.
Please note that the gate requires a code to enter. Members will be emailed the code when they join the Centre. If you wish to attend for a drop-in and will require the code, please contact us on musiccentres@kent-music.com.
Once onsite
Park at Weald of Kent Grammar School – plenty of parking is available onsite (Tudeley Lane, Tonbridge, TN9 2JP)
Carefully walk through the car park towards the reception
Before entering the main school building, turn left and follow the path down the side of the car park
Turn right through the double doors into the music block
Enter the next set of double doors on your right into the main hall

There is a huge amount of parking available onsite for Music Centre attendees.
How much does it cost to join the Centre?
We aim to make Music Centre membership as affordable and accessible as possible for everyone who wants to join the music community. Once you’re a member you will have access to all groups at our Music Centres. You can join as many as you wish, no matter which centre you initially signed up at and make even more music! Lessons are an additional charge. However, if you have lessons with us you will receive a 10% discount on your Music Centre membership.

Is financial assistance available?
Our belief is simple: music should be accessible to all. That’s why we offer financial assistance to help you learn and grow. What if I don’t have my own instrument?
We offer an instrument hire service at affordable rates. You’ll get a discount on your instrument hire if you have lessons with us! This allows students to access high-quality instruments without the need for a significant upfront investment. More information on instrument hire can be found on the Instrument Hire page.
I want to have lessons for an instrument you don’t teach here!
