Kent Music is Committed to being an Inclusive Employer
We are delighted to be stepping up our commitment to inclusivity at Kent Music by becoming a Disability Confident Committed Employer.
Disability Confident is a government scheme. It provides employers with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to attract, recruit, retain and develop disabled people in the workplace. This aligns strongly with our organisational values and ongoing EDI strategy work.
We have been awarded a Disability Confident Level One certificate. This shows our commitment to recruiting and retaining amazing employees. Our whole team is excited to work through the next two steps on our Disability Confident journey.
As a Disability Confident Committed Employer, we have committed to:
- Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
- Communicating and promoting vacancies
- Offering an interview to disabled people who meet the minimum criteria for the role
- Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required
- Supporting any existing employee who disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
- At least one activity which will make a difference for disabled people
Mandy Sangiuseppe, our Inclusion Development Manager said, “I am delighted that Kent Music is now a registered Disability Confident Committed employer”.
“We recognise that making a difference requires systematic change and team effort. Signing up to the scheme shows our commitment to adhering to best practice in inclusivity, supporting current and future staff.”
“The scheme will energise us to take necessary actions which I’m confident will improve how we recruit, retain, and develop opportunities with disabled people. I am excited to see the positive difference we can make as an inclusive employer. We embrace working towards the next steps on our disability confident journey.”
By registering on this scheme, we aim to show current and future employees our commitment to being an inclusive employer. We look forward to sharing our journey with you.
