In August 2021, Orchestra ONE (O1) returned for its 27^th project and our first one face-to-face in nearly two years!

It was absolutely wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to hear our young musicians making live music again.

Led by our Musical Director, Jason Rowland, and supported by our superb O1 tutor team, our participants spent four days creating a brand new piece on the theme of ‘O1 Fest!’. Sharing their experiences of attending music festivals and their ideas of what the perfect festival would look like, our participants reflected these ideas in their composition and Maidstone Grammar School was transformed into a festival venue.

The final result was a vibrant, exciting performance celebrating everything we love about festivals and Summer. You can watch the brilliant O1 Fest video below:

A massive thank you to all of our brilliant young musicians for such a fantastic project, as well as our full tutor team and support staff for all their hard work throughout the week. Thank you for bringing live music back to us all again!
