Music has always been a huge part of my life. I studied it at university and have spent most of my life singing, from performing in choirs to writing and performing my own songs as a singer-songwriter. I used to regularly perform at venues across Kent and, although I don’t do it as much these days, it’s something I’m keen to get back into. I love listening to all kinds of music depending on my mood, but acoustic pop will always be my favourite genre. I’m particularly inspired by singer-songwriters such as Gabrielle Aplin, Lewis Watson and Hudson Taylor, and there’s nothing quite like seeing them perform live. When I’m not writing songs, I enjoy being creative in other ways, whether that’s painting, crafting or getting lost in a good book. One of my favourite places in Kent is around Shipbourne. I love parking at The Chaser, taking a walk up to Ightham Mote and back again and enjoying the countryside with my gorgeous dog, Betty. I’m really excited to be working for Kent Music. Music has had such a positive impact on my own life, and I believe everyone should have the chance to experience and learn it. Accessibility in music education is a topic I’m passionate about and explored in my university dissertation, so it’s fantastic to be working for an organisation that shares those values and is helping to make music accessible to more people across Kent and Medway!
