West Kent Music Centre

The West Kent Music Centre is a brand-new, inspiring local music hub based in the heart of the West Kent community and designed with musicians in mind.

The centre is spread across two locations, with the Sevenoaks campus focusing on a wide range of instrumental tuition, vocal tuition and junior ensembles and the Tonbridge campus hosting weekly advanced ensembles. Both sites are equipped with top quality rehearsal rooms and equipment.

Both locations are staffed by our excellent Kent Music tutors, providing quality learning opportunities for all students from passionate and talented tutors!

We offer a range of lessons and ensembles for musicians of all ages, backgrounds and interests.

It’s the best place to connect with the local music community, providing access to fantastic music education outside of school hours and regardless of the availability of lessons and groups in schools.

Find out more about each campus and group below. We look forward to welcoming you to the centre!

Whilst restrictions have been eased, we are still prioritising everyone’s health and safety and would therefore ask that all centre staff and students at both the Sevenoaks and Tonbridge venues undertake some basic measures to reduce the risk from COVID-19.

Measures include:

  • Not attending if you’re feeling unwell
  • Washing hands and using hand sanitiser upon arrival at rehearsals and after visiting the bathroom
  • Maintaining a minimum distance of 1m between people while indoors and to socialise outside as much as possible
  • No loitering in busy communal areas, and staggered arrivals and departures.
  • One person per music stand with string players a minimum of 1m apart and wind and brass a minimum of 2m apart, all players facing the front
  • Personal music stand and music to be brought to rehearsals (stands and music available on site if necessary)
  • Face coverings are encouraged to be worn indoors and optional for string players during rehearsals
  • Practice rooms to be ventilated in between students and wiped down where necessary/possible
  • Rehearsal rooms will be well ventilated and rehearsals will last less than the hour with a gap to ventilate the rooms between sessions

As ever, please do not hesitate to contact us on musiccentres@kent-music.com if you have any further questions.

We look forward to making music with you at WKMC!
