Ashford Music Explorers is open to all types of instrumentalists and will introduce essential ensemble skills as well as creative musical skill-building activities, improvisation and singing.

Most importantly it will be fun, allowing participants to make new friends and explore their musical interests!

This group is the ideal next step for those who have been learning their instrument for a year or more, either through whole class, small group or individual tuition, or who are self-taught, and between beginner and Grade 2/3 standard (or equivalent).

All instruments welcome.

Ashford Music Explorers will be led by multi-instrumental tutor, workshop facilitator, performer and composer Lindsay Edmondson. Lindsay is classically trained on clarinet, flute and saxophone and has also studied Balkan and Klezmer music alongside jazz at the University of Kent. Lindsay performs professionally in bands from a range of styles including folk, reggae, jazz, cabaret, rock and classical and has performed at venues across the UK including Edinburgh Fringe festival, The Tabernacle Theatre London and the 100 Club Oxford Street London. Lindsay is a creative and enthusiastic teacher and believes passionately in the natural ability of anybody to learn given the right encouragement. Lindsay is also a songwriter and composer and has produced children’s musicals, music for animation, soundscape pieces as well as more traditional popular songs for bands and ensembles.
