All change at the top in Medway!
We are delighted to announce that Phill Hyde will be taking over the management of the Medway Towns Music Centre straight after Easter to continue the outstanding work that Karen Barton has been doing since 2008.
Phill is already on the Music Centre team as director of the North Kent Jazz Orchestra and has wider involvement with Kent Music as Manager of Kent Youth Wind Orchestra, Kent Youth Symphonic Band and the annual Kent Music Summer School.
He brings a wealth of experience from music education, music performance and music management and brings energy and commitment to every project he is involved with. Phill has a massive passion for the Medway Towns Music Centre having been involved with the centre since the age of 11. He is looking forward to taking up the role in April but will be working very closely with Karen from March to enable a smooth and effective transition.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Karen for all her hard work since 2008 as the centre coordinator for both Medway Towns and Rochester and we know that she will continue to do great work in all her teaching and projects with Kent Music.
