More than 200 school children performed in A Musical Universe – A Schools’ Prom, presented by Kent Music and Thanet Rotary Clubs at the Winter Gardens, Margate on Thursday 21 March.

Working to the theme of space, young people from 12 local schools took part, as well as performers from Thanet Music Centre, run by Kent Music, and The Percussion School. All the performers joined in a finale piece – Monty Python’s The Galaxy Song.

The young musicians, aged between seven and 18, were from Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School Federation, Chilton Primary, Drapers Mill Primary, Marlowe Academy, Ramsgate Holy Trinity Primary, St Ethelbert’s Catholic Primary, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary, St Lawrence College, St Saviour’s Juniors, The Foreland School, Upton Juniors and Westgate College for Deaf People.

Local Rotary clubs from the Thanet area and Kent Music have collectively organised Prom Nights for local schools every year since 2004.
