Kent Youth Wind Orchestra and Kent Choirs: Spring 2016

The superb Colyer Ferguson Concert hall in Canterbury was full to capacity on the afternoon of the 2nd April as The Kent Youth Choirs were joined by the Kent Youth Wind Orchestra. The concert with a nautical theme had something for all age groups including a rousing performance of Rule Britannia with the audience being in fine voice.

The concert was the conclusion of the Easter courses and rehearsals held around the County and brought together musicians and singers from age 8 to 21. The standard produced from these performers was outstanding and the audience were certainly impressed with an encore being required following the finale.

This is the third occasion that the groups have performed at the hall and the tickets were sold out long before the concert day. Phill Hyde and Liz Samson who managed the concert for Kent Music commented on how the groups are improving year on year and how pleasing it is for the groups to perform to a capacity audience.
