Meadows School get musical at Unfest

We were delighted to hear how Meadows School students got involved in ‘Unfest’ in Tunbridge Wells recently.

Kent Music is proud to have provided the school with their choice of Funded Opportunity in 2022-23 that supported many of their pupils to get involved in music making opportunities such as this this year.

Check out what Richard Sanford, Head of Music at the school, had to say about the project!

“A collection of students from Meadows School in Southborough got to showcase their talents during Unfest in Tunbridge Wells on the last bank holiday in May this year.

They took to the stage at the Forum in front of a massive crowd, including the renowned American hip hop collaborative ‘Arrested development’. The Meadows ‘Crew’ performed a variety of songs from well known artists such as Muse, The Verve, Foo fighters and Frank Sinatra.

The lead singer from one of the bands ‘ParaBlue’ performed an original which went down a storm. The entire afternoon was a fantastic example of the student’s talents and the crowd and performers energy made it unforgettable. This was a testament to all the hard work and effort put in by the whole music department at Meadows. Its a real thriving community that is growing to become something very special indeed.

Meadows will soon be putting on a mini festival to showcase this talent once again, (invite only) and are looking forward to a few of the Kent music team coming along to experience the magic.

The students range from year 7 to 6sixth form. The show was professional and captivating from start to finish. Meadows secured a spot at next years Unfest weekend with even more stage time so bring on next year!”

We love hearing about the amazing things schools we support get up to! But we love seeing them in action even more. Check ou the Meadows School kids performing at Unfest in the school’s video at the button below:
