Medway Towns Music Centre and Kent County Junior Choir join forces!

Medway Towns Music Centre Concert Orchestra and Force 10 shared the stage on the 22nd November with Kent County Junior Choir at the Concert Hall at Maidstone Leisure Centre. The concert managed by Phill Hyde brought together the groups to perform following an invitation from the Kent Active Retirement Group.

The audience of almost 500 were entertained all afternoon with music as varied as Michael Jackson through to a selection from the Disney film “Frozen’. The entertainment started the moment the audience walked through the door to collect their tickets as a small group from MTMC played in the foyer both before and during the interval. There was something for everyone and the audience were certainly impressed as they showed their appreciation after the closing remarks from the Chairman of the Kent Active Retirement Group. -“We are so lucky to have such talented young musicians in the County of Kent”

MTMC will be having two Christmas Concerts on the 6th December at Fort Pitt School due to the large number of ensembles performing (over 20). The first concert is at midday and the second is at 3pm. The Friends of MTMC are inviting teachers who teach in the surrounding area to attend a reception both before and during the intervals where they can ask questions and experience for themselves the superb work that takes place each week. If you are a music teacher (classroom or peripatetic) in the surrounding area and would like to attend (and of course have a free glass of wine and nibbles!) please contact Phill Hyde on phyde@kent-music.com or 07860 505693.
