Nancy Litten – KEYED UP

Nancy Litten has worked for Kent Music for many years and has produced some new keyboard publications.

Nancy Litten

Nancy was asked to teach group keyboard lessons in Gillingham in 1995, and this led to setting up ‘keyboard orchestra’ courses in Kent, and later, national ones. So her series of keyboard tutors ‘Keyed Up’ include ensembles, as well as solo pieces. They contain many arrangements of pop songs, along with classical and folk. The first three books were picked by Music Teacher Magazine in their ‘Ten of the Best’ music education review of 2012. (Article, right)

There are now three more books, which span Beginner, Blue (Teacher and Student editions); Initial, Red; Grade 1, Yellow; Grade 2, Green; and Grade 3 Orange. These are based on the requirements for Trinity exams and some of their pieces are set as alternative repertoire on the syllabus. Many more of Nancy’s pieces can be found within the Trinity grade books. For more details of what is covered in the books see www.nancylitten.com
