Great start for Medway masterclass series
From International tours with superstars such as ‘Sting’ and ‘Seal’, Sarah Field comes to MTMC to share her skills.
The Friends of Medway Towns Music Centre Master Class Series was launched with the amazing Sarah Field taking to the platform.
10 members of the Music Centre were lucky enough to work with Sarah on Saturday 28th September 2013 during a master class session watched by members of the Saturday centre and other local musicians. The Master class session was free to watch and take part in and included trumpet and saxophone players of varying levels.
Sarah worked with the lucky performers one by one listening and sharing ideas about possible ways to improve all aspects of their performances and general playing skills. The audience was engaged as well and included parents, students of the centre as well as a number of professional musicians who commented on how valuable the sessions had been for everyone.
The Sessions on the 28th September marked the launch of the new series of Master Classes sponsored by the Friends of Medway Towns Music Centre. Future sessions are to include Ensemble Master Classes using musicians from the Philharmonia Orchestra as well as possible collaborations/partnerships with other local community music ensembles.
