Kent Youth Wind Orchestra: Christmas 2014

Kent Youth Wind Orchestra makes a welcome return to Dover.

Concert goes were not disappointed at the Kent Youth Wind Orchestra Christmas Concert this year as the band returned to Dover for the first time in over a decade.

The Wind Orchestra under the direction of Major (Retd.) David Creswell performed a programme of festive music including some congregational carols to leave the very appreciative audience filled with the celebrations of the Christmas period.

The recently refurbished Nye Concert Hall provided the perfect concert platform for the band and the 450 seat auditorium with raked seating allowed the large audience to enjoy music following some pre concert mulled wine and mince pies.

The band comprising of 50 of Kent’s most musically talented school aged students were performing at the end of four days of intensive rehearsals. This concert, the first for many who joined the band this Season following competitive auditions is the first of three that see the band perform in different parts of the County of Kent.
