Make the music of legends this summer at Orchestra ONE.

From tales of the gods to urban myths, historical heroes to local legends, young musicians are invited to draw on stories to create brand new music – and maybe a few myths of their own.

If you’re aged 11 – 18 and play any instrument or sing in any genre, this is your opportunity to go down in history and join the Orchestra ONE ensemble. Whether you’re a singer or instrumentalist, your own interests, styles and experience will inform the brand-new music!

You don’t need any experience composing or writing music – just enthusiasm and some new ideas. Our team of expert tutors, including Musical Director Issie Barratt (director of the National Youth Jazz Collective) will guide you through the creative process and help shape your ideas into music.

You’ll perform your new piece of music for friends and family in the brand new JVh.o.m.e studio in Ashford on the final day of the course.

This is no traditional orchestra. Join us this half term to make mythological music!

We welcome all musicians ages 11-18 who play any instrument or sing in any genre to join the ensemble.

If you’re a vocalist, no prior experience is required!

We ask that beginners have been playing their instrument for at least one school term, but there is no restriction on instruments or preferred genres.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a classical harpist, a ska trumpeter, a spoken word poet, beatboxer, DJ, folk guitarist or something else entirely – you’re all welcome to add your special touch to the ensemble.

Every O1 project offers brand new experiences, and you don’t need to have taken part before to have a great experience.

Wherever possible, participants will need to bring their own instruments along to the project, including amplifiers, leads and instrument stands. Music stands will be provided for all.

Do let us know if you haven’t got your own supplies – we may be able to help out. Please get in touch by emailing countygroups@kent-music.com if this is the case.
