The Sound of Summer

With some of the best weather we have seen at Benenden for many years and with numbers increasing on many courses, Kent Music has completed another outstanding three weeks of music making at its annual Summer School. We have had some lovely family feedback since the courses ended:

Kent Music Summer School ran from the 11th to the 29th July this year and helped young musicians to develop their musical ability using purpose-built facilities and by playing in wind bands, symphony orchestras, string orchestras, jazz ensembles and recorder groups. Everyone who took part in a Summer School course was encouraged to sing in the course chorus and each course culminated in a concert for family and friends.

The  classical courses this year saw an increase in attendance and the very popular Musical Theatre Course (only in its second year) had to be moved to the larger venue of the Benenden Concert Hall for all of its rehearsals due to its huge popularity.

There will be a Wind and Orchestral Course reunion day for 2013 attendees in Rochester on 29th September giving students the chance to meet friends again and take part in more music making. Application forms for Summer School 2014 will be available in the Autumn Term 2013. Be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.
